Vocational Profiling and Action Planning is a critical stage within the Supported Employment model. Far more than a form-filling exercise, it is a values-driven process that ensures individuals are supported into the right career pathways. By working collaboratively with jobseekers to gather in-depth, meaningful information, practitioners can tailor support that reflects each person’s strengths, interests, aspirations, and needs—laying the foundation for inclusive and sustainable employment.

This course aims to equip practitioners with the knowledge and tools to carry out effective vocational profiling and action planning. Participants will explore techniques for gathering rich, person-centred information and learn how curiosity and active listening can uncover individual strengths and support needs. The course also covers how to translate this information into SMART goals and actionable plans that guide individuals toward meaningful employment and flourishing careers.
